How do you know which number hinge you need?
In most cases, you are able to read the number stamped into the hinge. If for some reason it is not possible to read or find the number, measure the distance from the middle of the top circle on the side of the hinge to the bottom of the hinge. Then use the industry standard chart below to identify the hinge you require.
|Distance||5/8" to 3/4"||7/8" to 1"||1-1/8" to 1-1/4"||1-3/8" to 1-1/2"||1-5/8" to 1-3/4"||1-7/8" to 2"||2-1/8" to 2-1/4"||2-3/8" to 2-1/2"||2-5/8" to 2-3/4"||2-7/8" to 3"||3-1/8" to 3-1/4"||3-3/8" to 3-1/2"|
If in the past you have experienced trouble with hinges breaking, we recommend that you upgrade to lower gauge hinges because the lower the gauge the thicker and more stress the part is able to withstand.
